Where Every Black Mother Belongs

Black Mamas Village is dedicated to creating a thriving, supportive community for Black mothers in Austin, Texas. Founded in June 2019, we have grown from a small Facebook group into a vibrant village of over 3,000 Black mothers, providing essential support and resources.

What We’re About (Our Pillars)

Black Mamas Village-ATX (BMV) provides a variety of opportunities for members to connect including playdates, moms meet-ups, family camping trips and so much more. Geographical and identity-based sub-groups for mental health, parents of teens, and empty nesters means there’s something for everyone.

Connection & Belonging

In order to address the diversity of needs within our village, BMV provides financial education and assistance through our emergency fund, a forum for small business marketing, resource navigation and referrals.

Economic Empowerment

At BMV, we envision a world where Black mothers and their families have access to equitable, culturally sensitive healthcare, which is essential for improving maternal and infant health outcomes and fostering overall community well-being. We promote holistic health and wellness and partner with other organizations that provide direct health & wellness services.
